Follow the steps below to complete the two assignments
in this online work packet.
- Go to the Connecticut
History Online.
Click on "Classroom",
then "Understanding
the Similarities and Differences of Two Connecticut Families",
- Click on "The
Cheney Family" and "The
Carrington Family", complete the following:
a. Read about the two families
and complete the Venn
Diagram.
b. If you finish the Venn
Diagram early, you can click "Family
Portraits" to access the pictures of the Carringtons
and the Cheneys. Browse through these pictures and begin to
think about some of the similarities and difference you recognize
about these two families.
- Go back to the Connecticut
History Online.
Click on "Search
Images", or in the "Family
Portraits" page, click on the "Search More ...
" link, and search for more images for the Cheneys and
the Carringtons.
- Look through all of the
pictures of the Cheneys and the Carringtons and create a graphic
organizer (table, chart, diagram) on a separate piece of paper
from the information that you find. Use the "Guide Questions"
provided by your teacher to help while you examine these photos.
Try to find as many details as possible when looking at these
photos.
