Minutes - Action Issues

Members Present: D. Fairfield, N. Finley, T. Hurt, M. Stetts , R. York and Amy.
Members Absent [unable to attend]:. J. Blohm and B. Pitttmam.

1. Delivery of Items to CHS

• Mystic will deliver their 100 Pilot Project images to CHS by June 30, 2000.
• UConn will deliver their 100 Pilot Project images to CHS by June 30, 2000.
  

2. Boston Imaging

• Mary Ann will talk with Dave, from Boston Imaging, how a change in total images will affect the price per image. This issue came about because it was calculated, as a preliminary count that UConn will have 3,500 images, CHS 5,000 images and Mystic 5,000 images, so we wanted to be sure a total of 13,500 images would not change the price.
  

3. Subject Concentration for the 100 Pilot Images

• All selection committee members present agrreed to the subject items highlighted in Nancy's document. It was determined each institution could not submit images in every area (all 8 areas) but that we would all focus on these eight areas.
  

4. Cataloging Record

• It was agreed that a separate cataloging field would be created to include one of the category designation; one of the new 5 designations [see no. 5 below].
  

5. Categories

• The group decided that they would revise the six category designations. The changes are as follow and leave 5 remaining categories.
• Urbanization = ENVIRONMENTS
• Immigration & Ethnicity = DIVERSITY
• Livelihoods = LIVELIHOODS
• Lifestyles = LIFESTYLES
• Infrastructure = INFRASTRUCTURE
  BUT Infrastructure will be rethought and be changed over the next week.
