Dublin Core Definition:

A date associated with an event in the life cycle of the resource..

7.1  Because the ImageServer cannot accommodate with a text length more than 255 characters, the description field is entered in the cataloging module, 520 field.

7.2  Since it is very difficult to specify the length of a description, the cataloger's judgment is very important. You should provide helpful information in the description and in the mean time avoid unduly and lengthy and detailed descriptions. (Minutes 11/29/2000)

7.3  Include all specific keywords in the description and assign general and eligible terms in the topical subject headings. (Minutes 11/29/2000)
