2.1  Punctuation

2.1.1  Use correct punctuation. Put a period at the end of title and subject headings. (Minutes 10/11/00) For a brief ending punctuation list, check Ending Punctuation for Variable Fields. For a detailed ending punctuation list, see Ending Punctuation for Bibliographic Data.

2.2  Proofreading

2.2.1  Each institution should make an arrangement for proofreading of the cataloging records to assure consistency and quality. (Minutes 10/11/00) A Proofreading Checklist is provided. 

2.3  Authority Control 

2.3.1  Currently, there is no authority control in the CHO database. Options for authority control were discussed but undecided. (Minutes 2/27/01) Before assigning a subject heading, you should always check the "Browse By Subject" section for consistency. You should check the "Browse by Creator" section before you create a new creator's name.
