Dublin Core Definition:

An account of the content of the resource.

9.1  If a title is provided by the cataloger, select "Title supplied by cataloger." from the drop-down menu in the Notes field.

500 __ |a Title supplied by cataloger.

9.2  Two options are provide in the drop-down menu. One is "Title supplied by the cataloger." Another is free note. If more note fields are needed, the cataloger can add the 500 fields in the cataloging module. (Minutes 6/21/2000)

9.3  Use this field for detailed physical description of an image that is not appropriate for inputting in the 300 field.

9.4  Use this field for the authority/source of a description, such as an architectural survey or other documentary sources. (Minutes 10/23/2000)

9.5  If a place name is spelled wrong on the original image, verify and use the correct name in the 651 field and make a note in the 500 field.

9.6  If a common form of a place name is different from the form in GNIS, use the common form in the title and the GNIS form in the 651 field. It is up to the cataloger's discretion whether to make a note if further information is needed. (Minutes 4/11/01
