5.1  Do not use brackets for title provided by the cataloger. Indicate  "Title supplied by cataloger" in the Notes field (500). (Minutes 6/21/2000)

5.2  If the place name of an object depicted in the image is known, it's recommended to put the place name in the title. If the place name is not in Connecticut, a state name should also be included in the title. (Minutes 11/29/2000, Minutes 4/23/2001)

5.5  Specify CT relation or make CT identification in the title if possible. (Minutes 4/23/01)

5.6  Be more specific in a title. If possible, avoid duplicate titles and try to give unique titles. (Minutes 8/23/2000, 10/11/2000)

5.7  Capitalize the first word of a title. Capitalize other words as instructed in the AACR2 rules (AACR2 Appendix A: Capitalization) (Minutes 10/11/2000)

5.8  If a common form of a place name is different from the form in GNIS, use the common form in the title and the GNIS form in the 651 field. It is up to the cataloger's discretion whether to make a note if further information is needed. (Minutes 4/11/01)
