View is looking north on Pearl Street; St. Mark's Episcopal Church can be seen in the center background. The wooden building on the corner to the left has its storefront partially submerged in the water. Signs on a post to the right read "ROBINSON/TIRE/AND/SUPPLY/GAS", "This is Mystic/HOME OF/MYSTIC/ART/GALLERY", with an arrow pointing the the right and "Turn Right", and MARINE/HISTORICAL/ MUSEUM" with an arrow pointing up and the words "Straight ahead". Another sign is partially covered by water and reads "GOODYE__"
