DescriptionView of the Housatonic River, Lake and Dam from Shelton on the western bank, looking towards Derby. In the foreground is a narrow frame building, probably a lockhouse, built on a brick platform. A canal is in the lower left corner. Logs are in the river above and below the dam. Men work on logjam.
