Description	View of the Housatonic River, Lake and Dam from Shelton on the western bank, looking towards Derby. In the foreground is a narrow frame building, probably a lockhouse, built on a brick platform. A canal is in the lower left corner. Logs are in the river above and below the dam. Men work on logjam. On the far bank are a frame building, dirt roads and what appears to be construction. Tree-lined slopes with a few houses are in the background. Inscribed on back: "Housatonic Dam. Derby / about 1894."
