Description	A crowd of men and women are in the foreground. A platform decorated with bunting is at the end of a slipway. At the far end, the steamship Hokah is just entering the water after sliding down the ways. Men with hoses spray water towards the bow of the ship. Wooden scaffolding, part of the cradle for a ship under construction, is at the left. A flag flies from a low building at the far right. A small steamboat is at a dock in the right background. Inscribed in image, lower left: "Groton Iron Works, Noank / Launching the Hokah / June 4, 1918 - N-100-P."<br>
