Description	Crew on deck of oyster boat Smith Bros., probably at City Point, New Haven. Identification of crew members handwritten on back, probably right to left: Capt. Irving "Frank" Wheeler, Mose Price, Al Eaton, unidentified [probably African-American man], Ed Morgan (Engineer); Feb. 1912.
Notes	Title supplied by cataloger. The boat depicted may be the Smith Bros. vessel built by Lake Torpedo Co. of Bridgeport, said to be the largest oyster steamer built in Connecticut. Oystering was an important Connecticut industry in the 19th and 20th centuries. New Haven and South Norwalk were among the centers of local and regional cultivation and harvesting. The peak period was 1885-1910. Mounted on gray card with beveled edge, 5 3/8 x 6 3/8 in. The man second from the right is identified as Mose Price in one related photograph.
