Description	The old wooden highway bridge over the Mystic River, downtown Mystic. View is looking toward West Main Street on the Groton side; Central Hall block can be seen in the center. The building on the river side of Central Hall stands on the site of the later Riverside Block. The flagpole can be seen to the left. Visible on the hill in the background to the right is Mystic Academy.
Notes	Title supplied by cataloger. The last wooden bridge on this site, replaced by an iron bridge later in 1866. Probably photographed by Scholfield & Holmes. Scholfield & Holmes was a partnership of professional photographer Everett A. Scholfield and C. D. Holmes. It was one of several partnerships undertaken by Scholfield over the course of his career. He worked primarily in Mystic and New London from 1865-1913. Scholfield & Holmes dissolved in July 1866. In 1876, the flagpole was moved from the Groton side of the river to the corner of Cottrell and East Main Streets.
