Description	A parade around Civil War Soldiers' Monument, East Main Street, Mystic is being viewed by a small crowd. A house identified as the Grinnell house is visible at the left. Spectators watching the parade include a woman and two boys in the center foreground. A wagon pulled by four horses is in front of them, and a buggy to the left.
Notes	Title supplied by cataloger. The Civil War Soldiers' Monument stands at the intersection of East Main Street and Broadway. It was the gift of Charles Henry Mallory of Mystic and New York. The June 13, 1883 dedication was marred by a series of mishaps. The Grinnell family home was built in 1885, and remained in the family for many years. Its contents were sold and it was demolished after the 1965 death of Isabel Grinnell Simons, daughter of G. Victor Grinnell and Eva Collins Grinnell.
