Description	View of the freighter Quinnipiac floating in the water beyond the launching ramp. A crowd of men and women is gathered in the foreground. Handwritten at bottom: "412 Groton Iron Works. Groton, Conn. Nov. 1, 1919/ Hull 375 Quinnipiac Launching."
Notes	Title supplied by cataloger. Groton Iron Works had its main yard on the Thames in Groton and a second yard on the site of the former Palmer shipyard in Noank. It built a number of iron and wood-hulled vessels during and after World War I. The Noank yard ceased production in 1919. The Groton yard continued until 1928. Punched in lower right corner: "N.L.STEBBINS, PHOTO/ BOSTON, MASS." Good condition. Mounted on canvas backing.
