Description	A man identified as Rev. Parker of East Haddam poses next to a house. He is dressed in Inuit clothing and holds a harpoon. Inscribed on reverse: "our minister Mr. Parker/ dressed in skin clothing/ and holding a modern harpoon/ near our house west side."
Notes	Title supplied by cataloger. On mount, 7 3/8 x 5 1/4 in. Parker was a friend of Captain George Comer (1858-1937), who was a sealer and whaling captain from East Haddam. Comer went to sea while still in his teens and was later master of vessels from both New London and New Bedford. He participated in voyages involved in polar expeditions and was noted for his studies of Arctic peoples and their environment. This photograph was taken at the Comer's house in East Haddam.
