Description	View looking east toward the Mystic River from the Scholfield backyard, Clift Street, Mystic. The ground is covered with snow. Structures in the yard may define an arbor. Evergreen trees partially obscure the view of the river.
Notes	Title supplied by cataloger. Printed at bottom: "Scholfield & Tingley. MYSTIC RIVER, CONN." Scholfield & Tingley was a partnership (1886-1894) of professional photographer Everett A. Scholfield and George E. Tingley, who started out as Scholfield's assistant. The firm had studios in Mystic and New London. Scholfield built a house on Clift Street near Pequot Avenue in 1885. Mystic River was the name for the area of Mystic village on the Groton side of the Mystic River. This area had formerly been known as Portersville. Mounted on board, 5 1/4 x 8 3/8 in.
