Description	View from the water of what is identified as a shipbuilding scene at the Palmer yard, Noank. A number of structures are visible along the waterfront. Houses can be seen to the right.
Notes	Title supplied by cataloger. Written in pencil on reverse: "Palmer Yd., Noank" The Palmer family's shipbuilding and repair facility, in operation from the mid-19th century until 1914, was one of the most prominent on the east coast. It was incorporated under several names and experienced substantial growth in the second half of the 19th century, specializing in the production of utilitarian barges and floats. The yard employed 400 men on average in the first decade of the 20th century. Fold lines are visible.
