Description	Distant view of people at the Peace Sanctuary, between High Street and River Road in Mystic. What appears to be a banner is visible above the group. View is partially screened by trees.
Notes	Title supplied by cataloger. Typed label reads: "Peace Meeting Grounds". Identified as the Thames Valley Peace Sanctuary, though the occasion and location appear to be the Annual Peace meeting held at the Peace Sanctuary in Burrows Grove, in the Great Hill area between High Street and River Road on the west (Groton) side of the Mystic River. The Greenman brothers of Greenmanville (Mystic) were supporters of these meetings, held in the post-Civil War period to the 1890's. They closed their business and gave their workers a paid holiday to attend the meeting each year. Mounted on black album page, 10 x 6 in.
