Description	Starboard stern view of open deck oyster steamer Ripple tied up to a pier in winter. A man stands on the ice to the left of the boat. Buildings are visible on either side.
Notes	Title supplied by cataloger. Ripple was built in South Norwalk, 1887. Her dimensions were 48 x 16.2 x 5.2 feet. Oystering was an important Connecticut industry in the 19th and 20th centuries. New Haven and South Norwalk were among the centers of local and regional cultivation and harvesting. The peak period was 1885-1910. Location of the photograph is unknown.
