Description	View of the Tripp Block, on the corner of East Main and Cottrell Streets in Mystic, just after its partial destruction by fire, November 25, 1900. A sign reading: "Mitchell & Son Practical Watch Makers" is visible on the corner. To the left, another sign reads "Spectacles/AND/EYE GLASSES/Carefully Fitted/AND/Repaired." Along the edge of the awning overhead the words "WATCH MAKERS & OPTICIANS" can be discerned. Utility poles line East Main Street in front of the building.
Notes	Title supplied by cataloger. Secondary sources identify the fire as occurring on November 28, 1900. The Tripp Block was owned by Captain George E. Tripp. The building was also known as the Mystic Opera House.The building was valued at $18,000. Losses to the stores on the first floor was estimated at $12,000. Arson was suspected.
