Church

be

. She was
designed
by
Hector
Darrach
, and
George
Mallory
was the
master
carpenter
. She was
owned
by A.

. and

Tift
of
Key
West
,
Florida
and
served
as a
pilot
boat
for
many
years
in
southern
waters
. She
stranded
at
Alvarado
,
Mexico
in
1921
. The
Charles
Mallory
&
Sons
shipyard
was
located
on the
east
(Stonington)
bank
of the
Mystic
River
,
approximately
on the
site
of the
present
duPont
Preservation
Shipyard
at
Mystic
Seaport
.
It
produced
a
number
of
sail
and
steam
vessels
from
1851
to
1875
, with the
Civil
War
period
the
most
active
. The
Greenmanville
Seventh
Day
Baptist
Church
was
organized
in
1850
and the
building
built
in
1851
.
It
originally
stood
near
the
south
end
of what
is
now
Mystic
Seaport
. The
church
was
moved
north
to its
present
location
on the
grounds
of
Mystic
Seaport
in
1954
.
