Description	Large three-story house with a porch with a curved Ionic colonnade, French doors, windows with louvered shutters, and wings on either side. A small structure with lattice sides is probably a gazebo or summerhouse. A man and dog walk on the lawn immediately in front of the house. Some trees appear to be hemlocks. At the far left, a steam locomotive engine runs along the bank of the Park River where a man sits fishing. Inscribed in stone beneath image: "Oakland Place / Residence of Col. J. Catlin, Hartford, Ct." Lower left: "Lith of E.C. Kellogg." Lower right: "Hartford, Ct." Inscribed in graphite beneath image: "As it appeared in 1840. Up to that time it was the home of the Sigourneys."<br>
