Description	Interior view of the Hickman Sea Sled Company shop, West Mystic, March 10, 1926. Various stages of construction are evident. A worker taps wooden plugs into the hull of a vessel under construction in the foreground. A tar bucket can be seen near the vessel's transom. More complete vessels and other workers are visible elsewhere in the shop.
Notes	Title supplied by cataloger. Typed on the original negative sleeve: "24687 / 3/10/26 / The Sea Sled Co. Plant at West Mystic / 1509-03". The Hickman Sea Sled Co. of West Mystic and Groton manufactured over 6,000 boats in the period 1925-1934 using the innovations in hull and propeller design developed by Albert Hickman. The West Mystic yard was on the site of the former Holmes shipyard. Taken by Rosenfeld and Sons. Morris Rosenfeld founded the New York City-based photography business in 1910. He was a prolific photographer particularly noted for coverage of yachting and other maritime subjects. His sons Stanley, David and Bill were also active in the profession and the family firm.
