Description	Port view of the houseboat-type oyster steamer Old Colony in harbor, tied up to a barge. Three men can be seen on deck. The barge has four men on board, and appears to be filled with earth. At left is the bow of an unidentified vessel with three men at the bow. In the right background is a two-masted schooner, possibly a large freighter, and a city skyline.
Notes	Title supplied by cataloger. Old Colony was built in Bridgeport, 1901. Her dimensions were 86 x 25.4 x 7.9 feet. Location of the photograph is unknown. Oystering was an important Connecticut industry in the 19th and 20th centuries. New Haven and South Norwalk were among the centers of local and regional cultivation and harvesting. The peak period was 1885-1910. On back: "4345"
