Description	View of a walkway lined with a rustic wood fence, leading up to Pequot House, a large wood building, with mansard roof and dormers partially visible behind trees in the distance. A beach and bathhouses can be seen on the right.
Notes	Title supplied by cataloger. In ink on reverse: "#5 Pequot House & Bath Houses/ from Mrs. F.O. Jones Res Pequot Ave/ New London, Conn./William F. Sauter/ New London/ Conn." Pequot House was built in 1850 and burned on May 7, 1908. It stood at the intersection of Glenwood and Pequot Avenues. View appears to be the same as depicted in negative (1975.294.376) identified as probably taken by Everett A. Scholfield, a professional photographer who worked primarily in Mystic and New London from 1865-1913. Albumen print mounted on yellow card. Some foxing.
