Description	View of a large white house with a cupola and chimneys, identified as Octagon House, West Mystic Avenue, Mystic. The house rests on what appears to be a high foundation. A porch at the first story level runs along all the sides visible. A number of people, including women and children, are gathered on the porch. Two people can be seen on what appears to be the porch roof.
Notes	Title supplied by cataloger. Handwritten on back: "Capt Washington House on Skipper St. (now West Mystic Ave.) Probably not Capt. Washington". Negative 1977.92.409 identifies the owner as Captain Isaac Washington. Negative (1977.92.354) from which stereograph appears to have been produced is dated circa 1870, and identifies house as Captain Isaac Washington's. Taken by Everett A. Scholfield, a professional photographer who worked primarily in Mystic and New London from 1865-1913. Printed at left "Views of Mystic and Vicinity." and at right "E.A. Scholfield, Photographer" Albumen prints mounted on pale white card, rounded corners.
