Mystic
River
,
approximately
on the
site
of the
present
duPont
Preservation
Shipyard
at
Mystic
Seaport
.
It
produced
a
number
of
sail
and
steam
vessels
from
1851
to
1875
, with the
Civil
War
period
the
most
active
.
