Description	Starboard view of Submarine U-117 at dock, probably in Groton. A launch is visible alongside. A crowd of people can be seen on her hull and on the wharf behind the submarine.
Notes	Title supplied by cataloger. U-117 was a German submarine launched in December 1917. She had an active career and was responsible for sinking a number of vessels, some off the North American coast. Surrendered at war's end, she became part of the group of U-boats used in Victory Bond campaigns in the postwar period. She made her tour in the spring and summer of 1919. U-117 was sunk in target practice off the Virginia coast in June 1922.
