merchant
and
Mystic
native

owned

Fish
&
Co
. of
New
York
. In
1883
she was
damaged
in the "
great
Java
earthquake.
"
About
1889
she was
converted
into a
schooner
barge
and by
1920
, she was a
sloop
rigged
barge
.
Hill
&
Grinnell
, a
partnership
of
Mason
Crary
Hill
and
Amos
Grinnell
, was in
business
from
1860-1874
. The
firm's
Pistol
Point
shipbuilding
yard
was
active
from
1864-1874
. The
George
Moon
was the
last
Hill
&
Grinnell
vessel
.
