Description	Starboard view of two Stonington fishing fleet boats returning from laying a wreath as part of the Blessing of the Fleet ceremony. A number of people can be seen on board both vessels, which are decorated with flags and pennants. The vessel in the foreground is a lobster boat and the one in the background a dragger.
Notes	Title supplied by cataloger. Based in Stonington Borough, the Stonington fleet is the only remaining commercial fishing fleet in Connecticut. Fishing has been a mainstay of the community's economy since the eighteenth century. In earlier years, whaling, sealing and cod fishing supported area residents. The present fishing fleet pursues a diversified approach not dependent on a single type of catch. The Blessing of the Fleet takes place annually. Dated August 1995.
