fifty-year
career
of
commanding
clipper
ships
and
others
, he
did
not
lose
a
single
vessel
or
man
. He
sailed
around
Cape
Horn

times
and the

of
Good
Hope
fourteen
times
,
possibly
a
record
. The
urn
was
originally
brought
to
Mystic
in
1867
by
Captain
Holmes
, and
is
now
in the
Mystic
Seaport
collection
(1986.36)
.
