Description	Two men pose on the deck of the Mystic-built schooner yacht Dauntless. The man at center foreground is identified as Caldwell Colt.
Notes	Title supplied by cataloger. Label reads: "Colly Colt aboard his pride and joy. One is tempted to wonder if the man in the background could be the famous Nat Herreshoff. There is no identification. Colt's face shows the effects of the high living on his famous yacht." In album. Caldwell Hart Colt (1858-1894) was the son of Hartford firearms manufacturer Samuel Colt and Elizabeth Hart Jarvis Colt. The younger Colt was a noted yachtsman and owner of the schooner yacht Dauntless from 1882 until his death in 1894. Dauntless was built by Forsyth and Morgan of Mystic, 1866 (original name: L'Hirondelle). She was a renowned trans-Atlantic racer and 1870 America's Cup contender. In addition to Colt, her owners included James Gordon Bennett, who purchased her in 1867 and renamed her Dauntless in that year
