Description	View of Cannon Square, between Water and Main Streets, Stonington Borough. Buildings identified as the Hartford National Bank Building (formerly the Ocean Bank) and Gurdon Pendleton House can be seen on the far side of the square. Two cannon are visible in the square. Dwellings and commercial buildings can also be seen on Water and Main Streets.
Notes	Title supplied by cataloger. The Greek Revival style Ocean Bank Bank Building stands on the north side of Cannon Square next door to the Gurdon Pendleton House (built 1848). Pendleton owned and managed the bank, which was built in 1851. The cannon were used by defenders of the town during the Battle of Stonington, under attack from a British fleet in 1814.
