Description	Port bow view of the ship Anni (formerly the Garibaldi) at dock. A number of people can be seen on board.
Notes	Title supplied by cataloger. Handwritten below photograph: "1336 tons, built 1860 at Mystic, Conn. by Maxon [sic] & Fish." The Garibaldi was built by Maxson, Fish & Co. of Mystic. She was launched in September 1860, and sailed the New York-San Francisco route during the Civil War and post-Civil War period. In 1880 she was purchased by German owners and renamed Anni. In 1881 Boyes & Ruyter of Bremen, Germany were her owners. The Anni was lost shortly thereafter. Maxson, Fish & Co. was established in 1853 by William Ellery Maxson and Nathan G. Fish of Mystic, together with other partners. The yard was located in West Mystic. The business went bankrupt in 1870, soon after Fish's death.
