Description	View of the Mystic River below the highway bridge, looking south. A silex mill can be seen across the river on the far left. The building with the smokestack at left center is identified as the Allyn Spool Company [Allen Spool & Printing Company]. The railroad bridge is partially visible in the right background. A man is rowing a boat in the middle of the river.
Notes	Title supplied by cataloger. The silica/silex mining and milling industry produces a fine powder (product of silicates, such as quartz); it is used as paint additve and in glassmaking. Attributed to Everett A. Scholfield, a professional photographer who worked primarily in Mystic and New London from 1865-1913.
