Description	View of Greenmanville looking northeast across the Mystic River from Gravel Street on the Groton side. The Seventh Day Baptist Church and houses to the north along Greenmanville Avenue can be seen. Two men are visible in the center of the picture on the river shore.
Notes	Title supplied by cataloger. The area along the Mystic River on the Stonington side north of downtown Mystic was known as Greenmanville. Brothers George, Clark and Thomas Greenman lived and had their shipyard and mill in this area in the nineteenth century. Printed at bottom: "E.A.SCHOLFIELD, Photo.,/ Mystic River, Ct." Everett A. Scholfield was a professional photographer who worked primarily in Mystic and New London from 1865-1913. Mystic River was the name for the area of Mystic village on the Groton side of the Mystic River. This area had formerly been known as Portersville. Approximate date based on chronology of Scholfield's career. Mounted on white card: 4 x 8 1/4 in.
