Description	View of East Main Street, Mystic, taken after a snowfall. A house identified as the Grinnell homestead (40 East Main Street) can be seen at center. Pedestrians are visible on either side of the street. To the left is standing a child, possibly a girl. A horse and carriage can be seen in the middle of the street.
Notes	Title supplied by cataloger. The Grinnell house on East Main Street was built in 1885, and was the home of G. Victor and Eva Collins Grinnell and their daughter Isabel (later Isabel Grinnell Simons). The contents of 40 East Main Street were sold and the house demolished after Isabel Grinnell Simons' death in 1965. G. Victor Grinnell was a local musician and artist and member of the 19th-century Mystic shipbuilding family. Emulsion damage along corners of negative. Possibly by George E. Tingley, a noted Mystic area photographer. In his early career, he was an assistant and later sometime partner of Everett A. Scholfield. After 1894 he worked independently.
