Description	View of downtown Mystic, taken from the Stonington side, looking west along East Main Street. The iron drawbridge in the center background bears a sign that reads: "WALK YOUR HORSES". The opera house is at left. Signs on the side facing Cottrell Street read in part: "HATS/CAPS/___/CLOTHING/SHOES" and "CARPETS/DRY/GOODS/WALL/PAPERS[?]/OIL CLOTHS". Waterman's Pharmacy is in the commercial block at right. An awning extends over what appears to be the store entrance. A utility pole and horse and wagon are visible on the right. The street is unpaved.
Notes	Title supplied by cataloger. Mystic Opera House, also known as the Tripp Block, was built and opened in 1887 on the site of Washington Hall, also known as the Exchange Block, which burned in 1885. Waterman's Pharmacy was apparently located in a commercial building at the corner of East Main and Holmes Streets known first as the Mallory Block, and later as the Newbury Block.
