Description	Members of the clergy are gathered on a sidewalk under a canopy in front of what appears to be a church building, probably in the Blessing of the Fleet parade review area in front of St. Mary's Church, Broad Street, Stonington. A marching band in costume is turned toward them on the right, and appear to be playing their instruments as part of the ceremonies. One member, probably the director, stands in front of the clergy facing the band. Spectators can be seen in the background on the right.
Notes	Title supplied by cataloger. Based in Stonington Borough, the Stonington fleet is the only remaining commercial fishing fleet in Connecticut. Fishing has been a mainstay of the community's economy since the eighteenth century. In earlier years, whaling, sealing and cod fishing supported area residents. The present fishing fleet pursues a diversified approach not dependent on a single type of catch. The Blessing of the Fleet takes place annually. Dated July 1995. Probably the parade review area in front of St. Mary's Church, Broad Street, between Main and Water Streets.
