Description	Interior of First United Methodist Church, Mystic, decorated for the 1876 United States Centennial. View is looking down the center aisle toward the pulpit and communion table, which are decorated with American flags, as is the organ behind. Flags and pennants decorate the light fixture over the aisle and hang from the ceiling. Visible over the doorway at left is the date "1776", and over the doorway at right, "1876". Wooden pews can be seen on either side of the aisle.
Notes	Title supplied by cataloger. Probably on Willow Street, Mystic. Identified as probably taken by Edwin Scholfield. Edwin was the name of both the father (1819-1910) and son (1887-1968) of professional photographer Everett A. Scholfield (1843-1930), who worked primarily in Mystic and New London from 1865-1913. The elder Edwin, Edwin A., was also a professional photographer.
