Description	A group of girls, some holding books, pose for a class portrait at St. Mary's School, Putnam. The girls are arranged in rows on a porch, the porch steps, and in chairs in front. A man, apparently a priest, and a nun stand next to the top row, one on either side. Another nun stands on the ground to the right of the bottom step. A Roman numeral chart hangs over the railing on the left, apparently held by the man. Date at the bottom of the chart is 1874. Writing on a blackboard behind the group reads: "Virtue will/bring its reward."
Notes	Title supplied by cataloger. Taken by Everett A. Scholfield, a professional photographer who worked primarily in Mystic and New London from 1865-1913.
