Description	Mystic area view identified as possibly the monument works at Groton Bank. In the foreground are two men and what appear to be two stone monuments. To the right is a tree stump around which a taut rope appears to be fastened. A large white house with a pitched roof and shutters can be seen on the other side of the unpaved street behind the men and the stump. A fence is visible in front of the house. To the right is another building that appears to have a storefront. A number of people can be seen on the sidewalk and street.
Notes	Title supplied by cataloger. Stereograph that appears to have been produced from this negative identifies the location as Groton Bank. Groton Bank was the name for the east section of Groton along the Thames River across from downtown New London. It was the site of a monument works. Attributed to Everett A. Scholfield, a professional photographer who worked primarily in Mystic and New London from 1865-1913. Approximate date based on chronology of Scholfield's career.
