Description	Masked people in a make-believe vessel seen in starboard view stand among a crowd of what appear to be parade participants. Vessel is identified as a horse-drawn float in the shape of a square rigged ship with gun ports. "J.B.C. No l" can be seen on the hull near the stern. Men stand on the street in front of the vessel and to the right. Many appear to be wearing uniforms and medals and/or ribbons. Boys and girls in winter coats and hats can be seen to the left and in the foreground. Spectators are visible on the the sidewalk in the left background. Above the storefront behind them is a sign reading: "BALLANTINE'S EXPORT BEER & FINE ALES" Sign above the storefront behind the float reads: "J. E. ST. JOHN/ AMERICAN BREWING CO./ ALES,LAGER AND PORTER". Trolley tracks can be seen on the street.
Notes	Title supplied by cataloger. The vessel is possibly being used as a float and probably belonged to the Jibboom Club, a social organization for seamen founded by whaling captains in the 1870s, reorganized in 1891 and dissolved in 1959. The place is identified as probably New London, and the occasion as "Washington Day". Probably photographed from a second story. Mounted on black card.
