Description	A man and woman stand on an embankment in the yard of a large house, possibly in Putnam. What appears to be a wood fence composed of balusters and rails resting on a brick foundation can be seen between the yard and a grassy area next to the sidewalk. A street light is visible on the edge of the grass next to a walkway that leads up a flight of stairs on the right. The steps are bordered by a fence on both sides. Structural and ornamental features of the fence, porch and house visible in the background are elaborate, with columns, balustrades, cornices and molding. A woman can be seen standing on the porch.
Notes	Title supplied by cataloger. Taken by Everett A. Scholfield, a professional photographer who worked primarily in Mystic and New London from 1865-1913. Identified as possibly Putnam; another image of what appears to be the same house is identified as Putnam area. Approximate date based on Scholfield having worked or handled commissions in Putnam in this period.
