Description	Frame house with dormers, louvered shutters, an entrance porch, a saltbox slant to the roof, and a picket fence. Leafless trees are at the right. A brick building in the background appears to be a multiple-family dwelling. A sidewalk and a dirt street are in the foreground. Inscribed on back: "1894/ The old Woodbridge house on Governor Street North / End east side near Sheldon Street. Said to be one of the / oldest in this city & stands near if not upon the spot where Elder John White built. Governor Street was formerly the direct highway from Wethersfield to Windsor. / It the house was formerly owned by Governor Hopkins and is probably very old probably built about 1710." "'Early Conn. Houses' by Isham & Brown say - This / house was built probably by a Mr. Sheldon in 1715 / The last Woodbridge (Sheldon) died about 1850 and / the property went into the hands of Woodbridge White / who died in 1899. The house is still standing (1900)."<br>
