Description	Waist length portrait of Grandmother Scholfield, with tinted cheeks. She is facing the camera and standing or sitting with her hands visible. Her hair is parted in the center and pulled back. She wears a cameo at the collar of her dark-colored dress and a ring on the middle finger of her left hand.
Notes	Title supplied by cataloger. Brass cut-out mat surrounds image. Hinged case is lined with red velvet. An American flag is on the outside of the case. Inner brass mat reads "SCOVILL MFG CO SUPERIOR", and on the other side: 'WATERBURY CONN.". Attributed to professional photographer Everett A. Scholfield, who worked primarily in Mystic and New London from 1865-1913. The woman in the portrait is possibly his mother, Mary Andros Scholfield. Possible date based on clothing and hairstyle.
