Description	View of the facade of a large white church identified as a Baptist Church, Huntington Street, New London. The steeple, pediment supported by columns, and porch are partially visible behind tree branches and two automobiles parked in front.
Notes	Title supplied by cataloger. Caption typed in blue ink below reads: "This is a view of the same church. It re-/minded me very much of old Montpelier. If/ it did not have the Steeple, it would re-/ semble the old church very much." Apparently the Third Baptist Church of New London. In schoolbook writing pad converted to photo album described as "The beginning of the good ship/ BLOSSOM - Adventure/ Photos made by W. Kenneth Cyler/ about 1923." Album apparently documents period of the conversion of the Lucy R. to the Blossom with photographs taken in New London, based on identification of related images. Blossom was also known as Lucy R. and Three Brothers. She was a commercial packet schooner formerly the Lucy R. of Nova Scotia. She was purchased by the Cleveland Museum of Natural History with funds from a Mrs. Blossom and made a voyage to the Indian Ocean to gather ornithological specimens. Blossom was fitted out in New London and sailed out of that port circa 1923. Good condition, yellow from glue.
