Description	View of partially collapsed five-story building. Piles of rubble and debris are on the ground. Several men, some of them in uniform, stand on the street. The men in uniform are probably members of the Connecticut National Guard. Utility poles, wires, and a street light are in the foreground. Several brick buildings and a church steeple, probably the First Methodist Episcopal Church, are in the background. A sign reads: "Monuments." Inscribed on back: "Park Central Hotel."<br>
Notes	Title supplied by cataloger. <br>The "monument" business may be Stephen Maslen & Co. Monumental Works, 352 Asylum Street. <br>Wellington Ketchum was the proprietor of the Park Central Hotel. An explosion of its steam boiler in the early morning of February 17, 1889 destroyed the hotel. 22 people were killed. 10 were rescued. Only part of the eastern wing remained standing. <br>
