Description	G. Victor Grinnell of Mystic is standing next to a hitching post on which his daughter Isabel Grinnell stands. He has his arm around her. Both are looking at the camera. He wears a jacket and tie and what appears to be a straw hat. She wears a light-colored dress and dark stockings, and has a bow in her hair.
Notes	Title supplied by cataloger. George Victor Grinnell was from the local 19th-century shipbuilding family and grew up in Mystic. He was a musician who at one time had his own orchestra, and taught violin at Connecticut College. He was also a well-known local artist and active member of the Mystic Art Association. Isabel Grinnell was the daughter of G. Victor Grinnell and Eva Collins Grinnell. In adult life she was known as an accomplished artist and violinist. She married Charles Dewar Simons and divided her time beween the Grinnell family house in Mystic, and Staten Island New York.
