Description	View of a stone church building identified as an Episcopal church in Stonington. The facade has a portico above which a tower-like structure can be seen. There are gothic arches at each of the three levels. The building appears to be covered in ivy. A fence and stone wall are visible in front of the building.
Notes	Title supplied by cataloger. Church was designed by Richard Upjohn. Printed on card at bottom: "SCHOLFIELD BROS., MYSTIC RIVER, CT." Scholfield Brothers (1879-1884) was a partnership of Everett A. Scholfield, a professional photographer who worked primarily in Mystic and New London from 1865-1913, and his brothers Addison and Edwin. Everett Scholfield was based in Mystic and his brother in Westerly, Rhode Island. Mystic River was the name for the area of Mystic village on the Groton side of the Mystic River. This area had formerly been known as Portersville. Approximate date based on chronology of Scholfield's career. Mounted on card. Card dimensions: 6 1/2 x 4 1/4 in. Photo slightly stained.
