Description	View of a one-story brick building identified as Louie's Lunch in its old location, Temple-George Project area, New Haven. The building has a sign at roof level reading: "LOUIS LUNCH ESTABLISHED 1895" and appears to be located on the south side of George Street. A three-story building can be seen to the left. What appears to be the United Illuminating headquarters building is partially visible on the north side of the street. Cars can be seen in the parking lot to the right of Louie's Lunch.
Notes	Title supplied by cataloger. Dated January 22, 1974. One of a collection of photographs taken by the New Haven Redevelopment Agency to document a massive urban planning and development project undertaken from 1956 through the mid-1970s. The federally-financed redevelopment initiative was realized through a series of projects focused on particular New Haven city neighborhoods identified by street or area names. These projects involved the demolition of old structures and construction of new buildings, roadways and other facilities. Oak Street and the neighborhood it defined disappeared as part of redevelopment, making way for the Oak Street Connector (Route 34) and new structures The United Illuminating Co. building is located at the northwest corner of Temple and George Streets.
